As part of our Youth and Men’s Engagement Initiative, the Men’s Pathways Program plays a key role in fostering community connection, fitness, and wellbeing.

The program offers a variety of activities, including gym and fitness sessions, as well as sports training with a particular emphasis on basketball. Recently, our young men from the Angurugu and Umbakumba communities participated in the 3rd Annual Eastern Cup Basketball Tournament in Galiwin’ku, reflecting our growing commitment to the sport.

Each week, participants gather for fitness and sports sessions led by our Bush Fit Mob Program Manager and Coordinators. These sessions include weight training, cardiovascular workouts, plyometric drills, and basketball-specific training. In addition, there are discussions focusing on health and overall wellbeing, empowering the participants both physically and mentally.

As this initiative continues to grow, we aim to expand the program to include more teams in men’s basketball competitions and encourage greater participation in a range of sports. Through this, we hope to inspire more young men to improve their fitness, health, and sense of community.
