To empower young people to develop positive mindsets, behaviours and relationships through sport, health, culture and recreational programs. And, to provide a range of opportunities which are fun, diverse and culturally appropriate.
Sports are used as a tool to improve health, increase school attendance and create pathways for the children, youth and young people of Groote Elyandt.
Bush Fit Mob is committed to providing healthy food and snack options during our activities and programs in community.
Social, emotional and physical well-being are promoted throughout our various programs.
Culture plays an integral role in all of our programs including on-country excursions, cross-cultural opportunities and participating in Indigenous events and festivals.
We like the Bush Fit Mob program because it gives our kids opportunities to play more sports and to travel outside of the community to engage in sport. The Bush Fit Mob program is helping our kids to live a healthy lifestyle which makes us happy
Yellow Shirt Team Members, Parents
I like when Bush Fit Mob comes to my school because they help me to learn about leadership, playing fair and having respect for team players and coaches. I am becoming more active, having fun and feeling strong in both mind and body.
Student - Angurugu School
The Bush Fit Mob program is excellent for Angurugu and I have never seen anything like it in any school that I have worked in. The Bush Fit Mob program has made a significant impact with school attendance and the focus on healthy lifestyles and being positive role models for the students has been very important.
